Located on 100 acres of generously donated land in Walton County, Alaqua Animal Refuge is a premier no-kill sanctuary dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and advocating for animals in need. The refuge provides respite for over 500 animals at any given time. Since its founding in 2007, Alaqua has helped find homes for tens of thousands of animals, with over 100 adoptions completed each month. They rescue everything from dogs and cats to horses, pigs, donkeys, cows, goats, birds, and even the occasional emu!
