WALTON COUNTY WELCOMES NEW BEACH CHAIR VENDOR

With the spring season in full swing and temperatures warming up, residents and visitors are making their way to the beach for a little fun in the sun. You can taste the salty sea air and hear the squeak of that sugar-white sand between your toes.

You’ve gathered your bathing suit and swim gear, packed the cooler full of snacks and ice-cold beverages, inflated your floats and spritzed on the sunscreen. Now it’s time to grab those beach chairs and hit the road.

Or, maybe you consider lightening the load and ordering your beach chairs before you leave the house? Renting a chair or umbrella is easy through COASTAL, the county’s contracted vendor, who offers premium beach services along South Walton’s public beaches.

County-managed vendor beaches are searchable on Walton County Tourism’s interactive beach map at waltoncountyfltourism.com. These are county-owned public beaches where rentals, including beach chairs and umbrellas, are available. These beaches have no restrictions on access or recreation.

RESERVE YOUR CHAIRS

Simply visit WaltonCountyChairs.com to reserve chairs and umbrellas online. Choose your favorite location, rental date(s) and add-on services, then complete the reservation form.

Once you arrive at the beach, check in with the beach attendant at your chosen access, and they will set up your chairs for a hassle-free beach day.

Advance reservations through COASTAL provide a convenient way to review all rental options, available access points and important beach policies before choosing your services. The site also offers a mobile app download, making it even easier to book chairs when you’re on the go. You can also call (850) 233-0914.

BEACH ACCESS

Throughout the county, you’ll find a variety of public beach access, private beaches and state parks where you can enjoy a day in the sun. In fact, there are more than 50 beach and bay accesses, and everyone can traverse the wet sand area along our entire 26 miles of Gulf beachfront.

Questions about your specific access? Check out the Beach and Bay Access interactive map at waltoncountyfltourism.com for the location of public and private beaches as well as their access points.

Simply type in your address to find the nearest beach access and amenities. Upon navigating to an area, click on the color-coded beach and surrounding icons to see the full description. Scroll below the map for a full key describing each color and icon. The map is being updated regularly, so keep checking back for the latest information.

BEACH SAFETY

No beach day plan is complete without checking on weather and surf conditions, or what’s allowed on the sandy shore (hint: no glass bottles!), so know before you go.

Check out visitsouthwalton.com/beach-safety/ for information on how you can safely enjoy Walton County beaches, including: beach flag warning system, important beach rules, lifeguard and rip-current information and beach wheelchair availability.
